Tile Hill Station - A Coventry & West Midlands Gem!

Tile Hill Station is in the suburbs of Coventry, on the West Coast Mainline. Originally opened in 1850. A level crossing was removed in 2004-05 and replaced by a bridge.

In brief

The station opened in 1850 and was originally called Allesley Lane, by 1857 it was renamed to Allesley Gate, it got it's current name of Tile Hill in 1864. There used to be a level crossing near the station, but it was removed in 2004, it was replaced by a bridge that opened in 2005. The platforms were extended in 2009. The first of two stations outside of Coventry. Served by two trains per hour each way between Birmingham New Street and London Euston (some go via Northampton).
